Associations and institutions are welcome to apply to become members of the ALCC.
ALACC Library and Archive Copyright Training is happening on 2 July at Public Record Office Victoria, Melbourne.
Copyright – it touches on almost all areas of practice in libraries and archives, yet many do not feel confident in dealing with it on a day to day basis. Recognising the need, the Australian Libraries and Archives Copyright Coalition (ALACC) continues to provide copyright training to members and non-members nationwide.
This training aims to arm librarians, archivists and information professionals with the knowledge and skills to tackle copyright in their day-to-day roles within collecting institutions.
Content
Two sessions will be run between 10 am and 4 pm.
Two sessions will be held which are designed to cater to attendees with different levels of knowledge and experience. They are designed to work as discrete sessions or as a single full-day copyright primer.
- Copyright Essentials (morning) – intended for those who want to learn or brush up on their copyright basics.
- Copyright Extended (afternoon) – looks more in-depth at key copyright issues in small groups using Copyright the Card Game – Australian Edition. This session assumes either a base knowledge of copyright or attendance at the morning session.
Cost
$70 full day / $35 half day for ALACC member organisations.
$300 full day / $150 half-day non-member attendees.
Location & venue
Meeting Room A, Public Record Office Victoria, Victoria Archives Centre 99 Shiel Street, Melbourne.
