PAST EVENT: Professor Kenneth Crews - Australia's Library and Archive Exceptions: How do they rate?

14 Mar 2016

The Australian Libraries Copyright Committee is pleased to be hosting a free public lecture by Professor Kenneth Crews, author of the WIPO commissioned Study on Copyright Limitations and Exceptions for Libraries and Archives.

Professor Crews will be speaking about how the copyright rights of Australia’s libraries and archives compare to their peers in the rest of the world, and how our Copyright Act could be tweaked, improved or even turned on its head to make it better for our library and archive community.

Professor Crews is one of the world’s leading authorities on copyright for libraries and archives and the author of 3 reports to the World Intellectual Property Organisation on the subject. He has spent more than twenty-five years researching, advising, and teaching about copyright issues for education and research.

The event will take place on 14 March at 6pm in the Gallery Room of the State Library of NSW. Bookings can be made via Eventbrite and are essential.
