The ALACC participates in government consultations on copyright matters affecting Australian libraries and archives and issues submissions and media statements advocating for reform. We also provide media statements and briefing papers on key issues for the libraries and archives community.

We support the Productivity Commission’s desire to establish more flexible pathways for access to data and digital content, especially as it relates to enabling Australian research and ensuring an Australian perspective in emerging technologies. We draw attention to some concerns around the use and impact of AI technologies.
